A quieter browser

Keep the useful parts.
Lose the endless video.

ReelLess blocks YouTube Shorts, Instagram and Facebook Reels, and TikTok feeds without taking away the pages you opened your browser to use.

Free, open source, account-free, and local to your browser.

How it works

A small interruption at the right moment.

ReelLess focuses on short-form entry points, so the rest of each site can stay useful.

01

Open what matters

Search, messages, subscriptions, groups, and regular videos are still there.

02

Short-form stops here

Reels, Shorts, feeds, and direct short-video routes are quietly removed or intercepted.

03

Choose the pressure

Use the four defaults, pause with intent, or open Advanced for schedules and extra sites.

A blocker that keeps its distance.

ReelLess processes the current page locally. It has no account, analytics, ads, or external requests. Desktop Chrome, Edge, and Firefox are supported; this affects supported browser pages, not native apps.

Permission by choice. Core sites work after installation. Extra sites ask only when you enable them.

Counts without history. ReelLess stores a local day and two numbers—never URLs, titles, or watch history.

For contributors: open chrome://extensions (Chrome) or edge://extensions (Edge) or about:addons (Firefox), enable Developer mode, click Load unpacked, and choose this project folder, not the ZIP. See CONTRIBUTING.md.
